A note on moving from SEO to data science

This is sample writing, placed here so a second post shows up in the list. The facts are the ones on the about page. There is no employer, no metric, and no result invented for the sake of the layout.

I have spent about six years as an SEO and GEO consultant. The work is specific: what a page is about, how someone looks for it, and whether they can find it. I am finishing a Master of Data Science at UC San Diego. I want the next job to be in data science, in the United States.

What I am carrying over

Search work already asks for a guess and a measurement. You change a page, then you watch whether anything moved. Data science asks for the same habit with stricter tools: a dataset, a model, and a way to tell a real shift from noise.

What I do not have yet is a body of data science work I would point someone to. Coursework is underway. Notes will land here when they are worth keeping.

A small side project

On the side I am building WN, a Flutter and Supabase app. It tracks ingredients in the fridge and suggests recipes from what is already there. It is a thing I am making, not a company and not a claim about users.

If a later note is useful, it will replace this one. Until then, treat the page as a layout sample.
